Storm Alexander

December 13th, 2007

Today, Storm Alexander is supposed to hit. When a snow storm is projected to have more than 6 inches of snowfall on a majority of the state, they name the storm. The storm isn’t supposed to happen until later this afternoon, but my school did not want to be stuck with all the kids at school, so we are having a snow day.

Great - except for the fact that I didn’t get the message until I was ready to step out the door this morning. I figured we would close early or close tomorrow. Usually, when I expect a closing, I take my phone to bed so when I get the call in the morning, I can keep sleeping. Not today. Oh well, I am still glad for the break - Especially since the snow hasn’t started.

Lucky! Hope you enjoy your day at home. All the students are gone now, so I’m walking downtown and going to the Macy’s display…and getting paid for it…almost as good as a snow day, but not quite.

I would love to go to the Macy’s display. What is the theme this year? Are the rumors true about Macy’s cheapening the good old Marshall Fields display?

Did you enjoy your snow day? I never had a snow day until college… I loved them :)

    So did it really snow?

This year the theme is “The Nutcracker.” So I loved it. It was still very intricate, creative, and magical. But I have to say that there was some cheapening of a few things. Thankfully, I don’t think any children would notice or care.
