Stupid “We have a big refund for returning recylcables” Connecticut.
In every grocery store in Connecticut they have a side door that has recylcling machines for glass, plastic, and cans each giving you a big $.05 refund. Tim and I usually don’t partake in this easy way to earn money, but tonight (since we have forgotten to leave our recyling on the street for the last month) we had a big haul of stuff and were off to the grocery store to earn what we thought could tally up to $3.00. I was excited.
$.25 later, I am not excited. We discovered that though the recylcling machines are extemely generic, they only take certain brands of drink. The machine scans the bar code on each item and will only take back what the store sells and if they don’t sell it they spit it back at you without your $.05. Stupid money making schemes.

We took the plunge and have decided to build equity in New Haven. Take a look at our new condo, we will be moving the end of May. I am continually amazed at how much we move…after this move, I look forward to staying in one place, books and all, for over a year.
