It’s Cold Outside
February 18th, 2007
Since our sleet storm on Valentine’s Day, it has been cold and windy. I am amazed at the “snow,” which is really white ice. When you walk outside, you don’t hear the lovely crunch of snow under foot…you hear nothing because your weight is not breaking through the snow/sleet/ice. It is the strangest thing. I keep wanting to have my feet be wet and hear the crunchy snow, but instead my feet are mostly dry because the snow is unbothered by me and my shoes. The snow has been in this state since Wednesday. Everyday, I keep thinking it will be the day when the snow will melt and be crunchy, but that day has not yet come.

I’ve never thought of snow as being crunchy until you said that. I guess it depends on what part of the country you are from!
