Blurred Reality

August 26th, 2006

I have a tendency to enjoy faithfully watching teenage dramas. I love watching high school interactions and the quick wit in most of the shows, but I usually end up thinking, “Why is that high school girl being paid thousands to do nothing?”

I become convinced that the characters are real people and it doesn’t make any sense why Veronica Mars or Rory Gilmore or Summer Roberts are being paid (with TV money) to go about their daily life. They are average people who exist in such places as Neptune, CA or Stars Hollow, CT, or the O.C. so why are they getting an actor’s salary? Can I get an actor’s salary to go about my daily life in New Haven, CT?

Hey - if you ever run into Rory in New Haven, tell her “hi” for me, okay? I’ve missed her this summer.

    Happy Birthday!

We are sucky relatives and didn’t get you anything (yet) for your birthday, but, as I recall, you never used the last birthday gifts we got you . . . :)

Sorry, but only insanely narcissistic people get paid thousands of dollars a day to go about their daily lives.

And you don’t qualify for that job…
