The summer class that I am teaching begins tomorrow. Fortunately, I’ve been able to read a bit the last couple days. That means I won’t be writing lectures solely from the memory of what I think the authors said. Now while that would be a fun experiment, I’d rather not have to do that. The other alternative was to see if Yale would pay to have someone read to me. I’m pretty sure they would, but I’m glad it hasn’t come to that.
Looks like I’ll just have to do this the old-fashioned way: prep at the last minute.

When I lost my eyesight freshman year, volunteers from the school read to me. We also added more bumps to my computer keyboard so I could tell where my hands were, my roommate would check periodically at my monitor and occasionally we’d find that my hands had shifted so the bumps were really helpful.
Strange sidenote - I’ve actually found recently that my blindness came in handy for when my sight returned. I’m really good at going into dark rooms and finding things and I don’t bump into things as well. Spatial awareness gets very acute.
We’ll be praying for you to see better soon!
