Yesterday I did something I had never done before: I called in for an on-air radio contest. Then, the unthinkable happened: I actually won. I was caller number nine. But since the radio station is based out of New York and I live in Connecticut, I was ineligible.
Nicole thinks I’ve the golden touch. I think I’m cursed. Now I know how Midas felt.

So in a situation like that, do they give the prize to caller #10, or do they not give out a prize? It’s a pretty awesome scam if you can set up a contest to get people more interested and more excited in what you’re doing, but define the rules in such a way that it’s likely the only person who might win is quickly disqualified.
I think the only time I was on the radio (when I wasn’t pushing buttons on the board) was when I was about 10 years old, trying to recite the McDonald’s Menu Song with no mistakes in a certain number of seconds for a prize. I flubbed it somewhere near the end, I think.
