Today I was supposed to go for jury duty. I received a notice in the mail a couple months ago. And since I am in between teaching duties, I had no good excuse not to go. Plus, it seemed kind of exciting. I was interested to see how things work on the inside. I even daydreamed of being Henry Fonda in Twelve Angry Men, demanding that we examine all the evidence before convicting the person who appears guilty only on the surface.
But apparently there is just not enough crime in New Haven, because when I checked last night to confirm, I sadly was not needed. Instead, I took my dog outside, where it refused to pee in the rain. I cleaned up Tivo, deleting unwatched shows that were taking up needed space. I tried to fix WordPress, but it was not to be. So, a rather dull day. Maybe I should go watch Anatomy of a Murder. It is Jimmy Stewart’s 100th birthday, and TMC is doing a marathon.
