I’m trying out Wordpress, but I haven’t completely done away with my old Movable Type blog. It’s been benched for the new guy, but I know MT knows the playbook and can step up if Wordpress goes down or underperforms.

What does this mean for you? Not much, other than you get to look at pretty little pictures as you read my useless words.

what are the advantages? Would I like it better than blogger?

And random quotes! Don’t forget the random quotes.

ISP, I’m not sure. Are there specific things you don’t like about blogger? Things you want to do and can’t? Wordpress gives you a lot more control, which means you can do some fun stuff, but it’s also more stuff that can break. I would say if you’re not having problems or don’t feel limited in what you can do, then you should probably stay put. (Since I run on my own site rather than a blogger/typepad/etc. site, I have do some background work that I’m hoping Wordpress makes easier.)

Kevin, The internet was invented so I could use a random quote generator.

I’m happy with Blogger (other than when I add pictures they always appear at the top and add extra lines in my text), but if I get frustrated I may call you! :)

Like the new look Tim. I’ve had some reservations about Wordpress as some friends have had reliability issues, but I can’t deny that the new format looks great!

I’ve had a lot of problems; more than I expected. I think it is probably an improvement over Movable Type (my site would be down for days every time I ventured to update), but that’s equal parts optimism and limited experience.
