Inessentials is a site for analysis, criticism, and observations about television, music, and other areas of popular culture. I am not a television critic, so don’t expect weekly write-ups of your favorite shows or breaking news. Rather, expect occasional insights and analysis on the ideas lurking beneath the surface of pop culture. The general idea is to take my training as an academic philosopher and apply it outside the academy.
